There will be a training workshop for club members on Wed 7th Oct 2015 which will cover training principles, programme design, periodisation, etc…..all material relevant to the average club runner.
It will be held in a venue in Cork City and is likely to last about 90 minutes. There are places for 40-50 and it will be on a first come first served basis.

Well done to club member Grellan McGrath on completing the recent Ironman Wales.
Ironman Wales is recognised as one of the tougher courses in Europe.
Grellan completed the 3.9km swim in 1h 17m for the first leg. The second 180km stage on the bike was plagued with some mechanical issues and the time to complete that was 7h 16m. The final run over the 42km marathon distance took 4h 08m giving a total finishing time of just over 13 hours.
A total of 26 club members took part in this years John Buckley Sports Cork City 10 Miler organised by St.Finbarr’s AC. The women’s team picked up 3rd place with several members getting category prizes.

North Mon 5km : This race in Knocknaheeny was held on Wednesday evening the 9th of Sept. Mark Gallagher was our sole representative in this and he picked up the 2nd M40 prize.

Results
The Kerry Way Ultra is conducted along The Kerry Way trail starting and finishing in Killarney, Co. Kerry. The route is approx. 200kms or 120 miles in length and takes in Glenbeigh, Waterville, Sneem and Kenmare.
The event started at 6am on Friday, Sept 4th at the Killarney Tourist Office. This is one of the toughest races in the country with a mixture of mountain passes, green trails, boggy ground, wire-covered sleepers and country roads.
Club member Charlie Byrd completed the course in 39 hours 33 minutes! Maith an Fear Charlie!
