I’m new to running and just want some general advice on how to improve my running and my race times, who should I contact?
The club has a large number of experienced members and coaches who can advise you on how to improve your times. I’m interested in running some track races, who can I talk to about this?
The first thing to do is have a look at our Track & Field page on our Club website here:- (https://eagleac.net/track-field/ . Keith Burke is our Track & Field co-ordinator, and he can advise you of the race calendar and help you with any specific training.

I have heard that Club membership gives me a guaranteed entry into the Ballycotton 10 mile road race in March. How does this work?
Club members do not have to enter with the first wave of entries, which only guarantees a limited number of places but only have to meet a later deadline to get their entries in and be guaranteed a race entry.

I appreciate that the Club is run on a voluntary basis by its members and I would like to help out in some way. Who can I talk to about this?
The greatest need for help is when the Club runs it two main races during the year, being the Eagle 5 Mile road race in Carrigaline, held each February, and the Cheetah 4 Mile race held in the Fota Wildlife Park each May. The person to contact is our Race Director Denis Looney.

Does the Club have an under-age/juvenile section?
No, Eagle AC is an adult Club only and does not cater for juniors. Some of our members children train with Belgooly AC who are a juvenile club and whom we share the CIT track with on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
