Evening Everyone

Well we have almost reached the end of another year of running! The shortest day is today too so we can look forward to welcoming the brighter evenings back into our lives!

Well done to everyone in all of your achievements this year we have had some truly fantastic results achievements in the club this year but we will save all of that until the Club awards night that will be held on January 27th 2018, you have time to think of your nominations over Christmas.

I have also spoken to at least 3-4 Eagle AC members over the past few weeks and through injury, illness etc. 2017 was not what they had hoped for, and they are hoping that 2018 will bring that road to recovery and the return to reaching those running goals. We wish you the very best of luck with this, and we are happy to help in whatever way we can ..add a weekly run to the email or request a race buddy to hit a race time there are plenty of options available.

Thank you for your support and interaction with the weekly email over the year too. Thank you to Mairead and Ruairi who have spent many hours seeking out Eagle AC race results and to all who have made regular contributions to the email and helped to get the relevant information and photos out to you; John D, Derek Costello, Keith Burke, Gerard Down, Elaine Guinane and no doubt I am forgetting people as I often do but thank you all!

I think we will take a week off from the weekly email next week and we will catch up on the results of the Christmas races etc on the 4th of January 2018.

I guess all that is left to do is to wish everyone a really lovely Christmas and a happy and healthy 2018, and we will hopefully see you on the Christmas eve run on Sunday.

CIT Track closed over Christmas.
The CIT Track is officially closed on December 22nd and re-opened on January 2nd 2018.

Dungarvan 10 Mile Feb 2018
Transfers for the Dungarvan 10 are now open, if you do have a number and are unable to run the event there are some club members that would love to avail of your number. We are happy to help out with this as needed.

Spring Marathons.
If anyone is interested in a spring marathon Eddie Trindle Ken Nyhan are heading to Hamburg at the end of April. Marathon is on Sunday, April 29th. Give Eddie a shout if interested. 297 runners took part in this flat and fast 5K in North Cork on Sunday. Eagle were well represented at the event with 8 members spotted in the results.

Cork BHAA Simon Turkey Trot
Congrats to Ciaran who was the first man home in this charity 5K in Mahon on Sunday, and also managed to predict his time to within 1 second, giving him a second place prize! Well done to all club members who turned out with great festive spirit and the run raised over €3,600 for a great cause.

We missed John Sheehan in the results last week who ran the Full Marathon in Clonakilty on Saturday the 9th of December. Apologies John. John ran the full marathon starting with the 8am group and was the first man home in that group. Congratulations John.

Competition: Munster indoor Championship
Damian is looking for members that may be interested in competing in the Munster indoor Championship in January. Please Contact Damian Kenneally if you would like any further information, or to express interest before January 7th. There are currently 5 Eagle AC members attending.

Time: TBC
Location: Nenagh
Events: 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and 3000m also Shot put, long jump and high jump.
Category grades: e.g Male Female, Senior, over 35, over 45, over 50, over 60 and over 70s.
