Another busy weekend for the club with members taking part in several road races as well as the Munster Masters XC in Watergrasshill.

Clontarf Half-Marathon :  Sat 29th Nov 2014…This flat half-marathon on the seafront in Dublin attracted a large field of over 1800 runners. Sandra Manning was one of two members taking part and was the 10th woman home. Sandra also ran a new personal best time of 1:32:19, taking over a minute off her previous best. The other Eagle AC member was Caitriona Hickey who ran 1:49:09.

Feet First Killarney 5k : Sat 29th Nov 2014…Gearoid O’Leary and Joe Murphy travelled to Killarney for the last race in the Feet First 5k series last Saturday. Gearoid finished in 8th place and set a new 5k PB of 17:20, taking 12 seconds off his previous best of 17:32 set two weeks ago.

Cloyne Commons 4k : This was the first race of 4 in the new Cloyne Commons 4k series which will be held over the winter months. Damian Kenneally who was our only member present ran 14:25 and finished in 4th place. Damian’s pace was 5:48 per mile which is a big improvement on the times he was running just 6 months ago.
