Race results, 10k & above:(Ruairi Egan)
The big race last weekend was the annual BHAA Cork to Cobh 15 mile. As there were so many Eagles taking part we have tried to list everyone, even though there are no clubs listed. We know some times are incorrect and due to be amended, but they are all we have to go on today. Apologies to anyone we missed.

Trail and Hill Notes – Gerard Down
The IMRA Hill/Trail season for 2016 in Cork/Munster is effectively over and will recommence in late January with the start of the MMRA short race league. For any runner considering trying trail/hill racing, there are quite a few parks and forests in Cork city and close to Cork that would be useful for training.
Garryduff Woods With a 5 K race in Garryduff woods on the 9th, a quick look at this venue would be in order. The official entrance is adjacent to and runs parallel to the the Garryduff Sports Centre at the top of both Coach Hill and Clarkes Hill which run off the Rochestown Road – Clarkes Hill is about 5) metres beyond small roundabout leading to and from Link Road. The entrance lane is about 150 metres long and at end, take a right which leads into the woods and about two hundred metres on you reach a central area. From here you can do a roughly one mile circuit. Whether you go right or left you will meet reasonably challenging hills so it is demanding if you are new to trails. If you keep to the edge of woods, you will sooner or later, get back to where you started. In wet weather parts of the trail can be muddy and care is needed with roots and stumps sticking out of ground. 4
Coillte have a good article on the woods on their site : http://www.coillteoutdoors.ie/index.php?id=171&rec_site=143

Autumn/ Winter 3km races: For the past two years, the club has organised a 3km race series throughout the autumn/winter months. These take place during the usual Tuesday track training time approximately every 6 weeks, and the provisional date for the first one is on Oct. 11th. Further details nearer the time. All members are welcome to take part and in previous years we have held two races on each night to accommodate various paces.
Coffee Run: Having been scuppered by adverse weather last Saturday, we will now have the next coffee run on Sat. Oct. 22nd, which will make an ideal taper run for anyone doing Dublin the following week. All details will be sent as usual the previous week.
