The Eagle AC Cheetah Run in Fota Wildlife Park will take place on Thursday the 18th of May 2017. Please note that entries are now closed and there are no entries on the night.

Cheetah Run Thursday 18th May – Important information
Race times: Cheetah Mile 7.15pm (Juvenile Race), Cheetah Run 8.00pm (Adult Race)
Registration in the Education Centre opens at 6.30pm
Fota Wildlife Park is open to the following only for the duration of the event:
**Registered runners with bib number displayed
**Guest with wristbands – each runner will be allocated 4 wristbands on registration – runners will need to distribute these to their guests after registration and in advance of the races commencing.

After the race, light refreshments in the form of tea, coffee & biscuits will be available.

The results of the race will be on this website on Friday morning.

Eagle AC held its first ever shot putt tutorial at the CIT track on Tuesday the 9th of May with 6 members taking part. Everyone was taken through the basic rules of the sport as well as some basic techniques. Even though it was the first experience of the shot putt for many, everyone passed with flying colours! 🙂

The primary purpose of the tutorial which was coached by John Desmond was to establish a pool of members who might considering representing the club in masters competitions at County and Munster level in the future.

Pat Twomey is continuing his 2017 World Tour as he moves from Australia to the USA and he recently took in a 5k race in Ewing, New Jersey. Needless to say, Pat was ruthless in hoovering up the category prizes again ;o)

The Cheetah Run One-Mile race for juveniles will be held on Thursday the 18th of May at 7:15pm, 45 minutes before the 5k race.

As of the 8th of May, there are less than 25 places left.

The One-Mile race is for 11 to 15 year olds with a special commemorative medal for all finishers. It will also have chip timing.

BHAA Stryker 4 mile
A total of 666 runners took part in the first BHAA evening race of the summer in Carrigtwohill last Wednesday evening. As club names are not listed in the results, it is not possible to list every Eagle AC participant. Below are some of the category prize winners. There is a 5k race for adults (16y and over) and a one mile race for juveniles (11-15 year olds).

The annual Great Railway Run was held on Sunday the 23rd of April. There were three races…a 25km from Cork to Carrigaline, a 10km from Monkstown to Carrigaline and a 5k from Ringaskiddy to Carrigaline.

In the 5k, the club have two members in the top 3 in both the men’s and women’s results. Cathal Twomey finished 3rd in the men’s race while Mairead Lonergan was the first woman home.
