Training

The club organises several training sessions during a typical week for members.

CIT Track…On Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 6.45pm and 7.45pm, we organise interval sessions at the CIT track in Bishopstown. The Tuesday session is currently the most popular and it is structured as follows…
a) 6:30-6:40pm,…Warm up by running on the roads and tracks nearby.
b) 6:45pm…Dynamic warm up routine which lasts about 5-10 minutes
c) 6:50pm…Groups then do various interval sessions which are advertised in advance to members by e-mail.
d) 7:40pm…Warm down

CIT_Track_Part

Weekends…During the weekends,  we usually organise multiple training runs for members.  On Saturday mornings, we usually have a tempo training session while on both Saturdays and Sundays, we have members leading runs on roads and trails near Cork City which vary from 8 to 20 miles in length. All members are notified in advance of the proposed runs at the weekend by e-mail.
